Udhiya for Eid-ul-Adha 1430

Assalamualaikum Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Eid ul Adha is coming soon. The Muslims Students' Association (MSA) at IIT is making arrangements for the qurbani/udhiya for Eid.
There are two options:

Udhiya in Muslim Countries around the World

If you give your udhiya money before Friday, November 20th, then the MSA will arrange with Islamic Relief USA to do udhiya/qurbani and distribute the meat to needy Muslims around the world.  If you wish to do this, then these are the rates:
  • Indonesia: $165
  • Pakistan: $75
  • Palestine: $125
Please contact the MSA or give your payment in an envelope notifying your country of choice (on or before November 20th 2009), and place the envelope in the donation box at MSA.  After Nov 20th, all money collected will be used for doing udhiya locally.

Local Udhiya

After Friday November 20th, all udhiya money collected will be used for local qurbani/udhiya.  There is a Muslim owned slaughter house near IIT (1 mile) at 38th and Halsted called Barakat Foods, where they slaughter animals in the authentic Islamic way. If you wish to use this option, then it would be possible for you to collect all or part of the meat from the slaughter house. Any meat that you do not collect, we will inshallah distribute it to poor Muslims locally. 
Also this option gives you the chance to do the qurbani/udhiya by your own hands during Eid day.
Barakat Foods is doing lamb and goat slaughter, with a price of $145 for the animal, and $10 for cutting the animal and making small pieces of meat.

New Lessons Schedule

MSA will be organizing lectures according to the following new schedule:

  • Mon: Tajweed Hifd w/ Br. Kaschif and Syed Q.
  • Tues: Hadith with Br. Adil
  • Wed: Tafseer w/ Syed Q.
  • Thur: Aqeedah/Tawheed by Musehaf
  • Fri: Lives of Prophets w/ Br. Tanim (Starts Oct. 9th)
All starting after Salaat-ul-Isha (7:00 pm) at Farr Hall, MSA.
 

MSA Classifieds

As salaam alai kum,
The MSA is proud to announce that, Alhumdulillah we now have a Classifieds section in our website. This will allow users to post their needs onto the MSA website which will allow them to reach to the larger MSA community. You can post your housing questions like looking for place to stay or looking for room mates and any other queries onto the MSA Classifieds section. You will need to login using your MSA account. If you don't have an account already you can easily get one by registering on the website.
